Superbowl Snacks: Pizza Crescent roll-ups

So I’ve decided to start bringing you guys some fun recipes that you can make for the big game! These will be mostly appetizers but I might slip some other dishes in there somewhere. I hope you guys like this idea seeing as¬†Superbowl Sunday is fast approaching! I will be making a little section on my recipes page ( ^ there) ¬†entitled¬†Superbowl¬†Sunday¬†and i’ll link all these¬†Superbowl¬†specific recipes all together for easier access that day. The first recipe in this mini series is this one…

1 can of refrigerated crescent rolls

40 slices of pepperoni ( i used turkey pepperoni)

4 mozzarella string cheese sticks ( cut in half)

pizza sauce  for dipping

STEP 1: Unroll crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles.

STEP 2:  Place 5 slices of turkey pepperoni on each crescent roll.

STEP 3: Top pepperoni with string cheese half and roll up.

STEP 4:  Place rolls on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

STEP 5: Serve with a side of warm pizza sauce.

IF you want to take these a step further, melt some butter with a bit of garlic powder and brush some of the mixture onto the crescent roll-ups when they’re fresh out of the oven! YUMMMMMMM! DO NOT I repeat DO NOT over do it with the garlic butter because that will cause the crescents to become soggy.

What are your favorite/go to game day recipes?

let me know in the comments below ūüôā can’t wait to try them!

Make ahead Breakfast Burritos

So a while ago I was on Pinterest and I saw a pin about making your own breakfast burritos just like the ones you buy at a certain fast food restaurant and I pinned it. I pinned it because I liked the idea of not having to stop and waste time in those looooong morning drive-thru lines while you’re already running late. When I went to FINALLY make these burritos I clicked on the photo so it can take me to the instructions and there was no link attached to the photo. -_- ¬†So I just decided to try and make my own.

For this “recipe” ( if you can call it that ) I really shouldn’t tell you exact measurements because your family is different in size and well the more mouths you plan on feeding the more ingredients you’ll need to use ūüôā

1 pkg sausage
1 Pkg. Hash browns
8 to 10  eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 pkg. shredded cheese (I use cheddar today, but I have used a Mexican blend)
salt and pepper to taste
1 to 2 pkg. flour tortillas¬†(I used the tortillas that are meant for fajitas. They say “for fajitas” right on the package)

STEP 1: Cook sausage according to package. Then cut each sausage into small bite size pieces

STEP 2: cook hash browns in the same pan as the sausage

STEP 3: while your hash browns are cooking, in a large mixing bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper

STEP 4: add sausage back to the pan with the hash browns then add the eggs to the sausage mixture and cook until the eggs are done, stirring gently.

STEP 5: warm the tortillas according to package instructions.

STEP 6: After eggs are done Рlay a tortilla on counter.  Place egg mixture on tortilla.  Top with cheese.  Roll into a burrito.

set up

STEP 7: wrap burritos in plastic, then place in a freezer bag.

freezer bag

When you’re ready to eat these take as many as you need out of the freezer take out of the baggie and the plastic and wrap each burrito in a napkin and warm them through thoroughly

Serve them with any toppings that you want: sour cream, avocado, salsa, etc
Depending on how many eggs you use and how large you make each burrito,  will determine how many burritos you will end up with. Since I used the bigger tortillas I ended up with 12 burritos. But as always, you can switch it up and use the smaller tortillas and make more. Its all about what you want, so make all the necessary changes you want. For example: add green onions, peppers, bacon, etc.

Product Review: Jimmy Deans Blueberry Pancakes & Sausage on a stick

This is my first ever review and before I go any further I want to say I AM NOT BEING PAID IN ANY WAY TO REVIEW THIS PRODUCT NOR AM I IN ANY WAY AFFILIATED WITH JIMMY DEANS. I simply happen to be strolling the aisles of my local Walmart and stumbled upon these.

Now your favorite breakfast foods are even easier to eat. We wrapped a delicious sausage inside a sweet blueberry pancake, and put it on a stick to make it portable.- Jimmy Deans website

Let me start by saying I am NOT usually a fan of these “freezer on a stick ” type foods, buuuuut I am a BIG fan of these! The sausage has a great flavor because of the turkey and the whole sweet and savory mix is frankly heaven on earth :p These are also convenient for those mornings when you are running late…pop one or two in the microwave and BAM you’re ready to go. ¬†One last thing. You know how usually freezer foods that are meant to be microwaved usually come out tough and chewy? well these surprisingly did not come out that way to me.

Well guys in my opinion these are worth the price. Go out and give them a try!
