So a while ago I was on Pinterest and I saw a pin about making your own breakfast burritos just like the ones you buy at a certain fast food restaurant and I pinned it. I pinned it because I liked the idea of not having to stop and waste time in those looooong morning drive-thru lines while you’re already running late. When I went to FINALLY make these burritos I clicked on the photo so it can take me to the instructions and there was no link attached to the photo. -_- Â So I just decided to try and make my own.
For this “recipe” ( if you can call it that ) I really shouldn’t tell you exact measurements because your family is different in size and well the more mouths you plan on feeding the more ingredients you’ll need to use 🙂
STEP 1: Cook sausage according to package. Then cut each sausage into small bite size pieces
STEP 2: cook hash browns in the same pan as the sausage
STEP 3: while your hash browns are cooking, in a large mixing bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper
STEP 4: add sausage back to the pan with the hash browns then add the eggs to the sausage mixture and cook until the eggs are done, stirring gently.
STEP 5: warm the tortillas according to package instructions.
STEP 6:Â After eggs are done – lay a tortilla on counter. Â Place egg mixture on tortilla. Â Top with cheese. Â Roll into a burrito.
STEP 7: wrap burritos in plastic, then place in a freezer bag.
When you’re ready to eat these take as many as you need out of the freezer take out of the baggie and the plastic and wrap each burrito in a napkin and warm them through thoroughly
Serve them with any toppings that you want: sour cream, avocado, salsa, etc
Depending on how many eggs you use and how large you make each burrito, Â will determine how many burritos you will end up with. Since I used the bigger tortillas I ended up with 12 burritos. But as always, you can switch it up and use the smaller tortillas and make more. Its all about what you want, so make all the necessary changes you want. For example: add green onions, peppers, bacon, etc.
Enjoy!
